Broadband Labels: What to Know
Broadband labels provide you with clear and accurate information about the standard, non-promotional rates and performance of high-speed internet and mobile services. These labels are designed to help you compare different service plans that can meet your needs and budget.
This label looks like one you might see on the foods you buy. But instead of calories, it lists details about the monthly price, broadband speeds, and data allowances for plans you’re considering.
The FCC requires all service providers to make these labels available to you. Labels are only available for plans offered on or after April 10, 2024.
This section includes the rate plan name and indicates whether the label is a Broadband (internet to a fixed location) or Mobile (wireless) disclosure.
Shows the full monthly rate of the selected plan. It doesn’t include discounts or promotional pricing that may be available.
This section includes a link to see available discounts or bundles you may be eligible for.
This section shows typical upload, download, and latency speeds. These are based on independent network testing.
Speeds can vary based on location, device, and other factors. “Typical” speeds aren’t always the same as the advertised speed and may not be the speed you see when running a speed test on your phone or other device. Once the service is connected to a modem and any routers set up in the home, the number of connected devices in the home may impact the speed any one device receives.
This specifies the data allotment for the selected plan. This is also sometimes referred to as a data cap.

This section includes a link for FCC resources and the label’s FCCID, which is unique to each plan and version of the label.
